Wreaths Across America’s annual “Escort to Arlington” begins Sunday, December 7. It will be stopping at the Downeast Family YMCA at 238 State Street in Ellsworth for an indoor ceremony to honor our local veterans and remember our fallen. There will be music, guest speakers and a “Welcome Home Observance”. The public is invited but we need your help. Many of our Vietnam veterans were never given a proper welcome home. We want to recognize them in a special part of our ceremony but we can only do that if they attend. Please spread the word and help us find them. We are excited to share this exciting and heart-warming event with the public. The convoy arrives at 8:40 a.m. and the ceremony starts at 9:10 a.m. Handicap and limited parking is available at the YMCA. More parking is available in front of the Mill Mall, Hammond Lumber or at the Ellsworth Middle School.
Please join us and watch the convoy as it arrives at the Mill Mall. It will continue it’s journey to Arlington after our ceremony. We look forward to seeing you!
