On November 8th we are hosting the 2nd Annual Veterans Remembrance 4 miler. This Event is sponsored by the FIRST and a portion of money raised will go to WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.
This year we are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with the Summit Project. The Summit Project is the brainchild of Major David J. Cote, a veteran from Maine. The Summit Project is living memorial that pays tribute to the fallen service members from Maine who have died in the line of duty since September 11, 2001. Names of fallen soldiers have been engraved on tribute stones that volunteers carry on treks throughout Maine and elsewhere. These volunteers must learn about their fallen soldier, carry their stone through a physical challenge and compose a post-event reflection letter addressed to the fallen soldier’s family. 10 of these stones will be carried at the event.
