Taylor’s Story

Taylor's Story

Taylor's storyTaylor has been a member of The Down East Family YMCA since 2015. She attends fitness classes and has been doing personal training. When The Y shutdown this spring Taylor did home workouts and was able to remember some of the exercises that Wellness Director and Personal Trainer Robin Clarke had taught her and worked with her on from the personal training sessions they had done together. Having received feedback during the live sessions gave Taylor the confidence to try the exercises at home on her own.

For Taylor the thing she was most excited about when The Y reopened was to feel better both mentally and physically and help to keep her stress in check.

Her daughter Violet started shrimp swim lessons when she was 6 months old. Violet loves the water and fisherman Mom Taylor knows the importance of being comfortable with the water. They will be back to swim lessons and keeping Violet’s swim lessons going when classes resume as she loves the water.

She started personal training here at The Wiggins Center because she had heard good things about it from friends and wanted to make some changes. Personal training helps keep her in shape for her job as a Lobsterwoman captaining her own boat. She likes a trainer guiding and correcting/reinforcing her rather than coming in and using the equipment on her own. She really enjoys heavy lifting and bodybuilding.
