We’re excited to announce that registration for our next session of swim lessons begins December 15th in Blue Hill & Ellsworth. Lessons will begin January 5th — now’s the perfect time to sign up!
Why Choose DEFY Swim Lessons?
At the Down East Family YMCA, we offer swim lessons for all ages and skill levels — from infants and toddlers to school-age children, teens, and adults.
- Young swimmers (6 months–3 years) begin in Parent/Child classes, with parents alongside their child to build comfort and water readiness.
- Preschoolers (ages 3–5) learn basic water safety and swimming foundations — including “swim, float, swim,” front & back glides, roll/floats, and safe water exit skills.
- School-age kids (5–12 years) build on fundamentals with stroke development, safe swimming techniques, and water-safety skills that support a lifetime of healthy activity.
- Teens and adults can also join — whether you’re a first-time swimmer or looking to improve stroke technique. Small class sizes allow for personalized instruction at any stage.
Swimming is more than a skill — it’s water safety, confidence, fitness, and a path to lifelong wellness.
