Crossing the Bridge
- The race starts on the Fort Knox Road/Route 174 and immediately crosses the Penobscot Narrows.
- Our lane of the bridge will be closed for the start of the race. Public safety officials need the bridge to be cleared of participants as quickly as possible so that the bridge may be reopened to traffic.
- We ask that all participants jog (or fast-walk) to clear the bridge deck as quickly as possible. Do NOT stop on the bridge for any reason! This includes stopping to take photographs. Participants seen lingering on the bridge will risk immediate disqualification.
- If you find that you’re at the back of the pack, please move over to the side.
- We are grateful to the state of Maine to be able to cross this iconic bridge.
- Please respect the wishes of public safety and DOT officials.
