Sam Alvarado defended his 1.5 mile swim title and Kristy Barry was a double winner at this year’s Bill Reeve Echo Lake Swim. 56 Swimmers aged 9-69 braved the rain and fog to compete in the 22nd Annual event, sponsored by Berry Dunn, Finn’s Irish Pub and Clarke Construction.
Sam Alvarado led from beginning to end to capture his 2nd title in as many years with a time of 33:36.05. Sam was followed by Camden Holmes and Zain Fitzimmons who finished in times of 36:45.19 and 36:51.19, respectively. Kristy Barry and Emma Farnham finished in a tie for 4th overall, and the first females to finish, in a time of 38:19.80. This was the first tie for a first place finish in the event’s history.
Kristy barry won the 500 in a time of 6:44.54. She was followed by Lauren Joliet, 6:58.90, and Keith Chandler, 7:14.47.
