When you join the Y, you help keep our doors open. When you give to the Annual Campaign, you help open those doors to everyone. Last year, we provided almost half a million dollars in scholarships for membership and programming.
Youth Development
A child’s opportunity to learn, play and belong should not depend on what their family can afford. Annual Campaign gifts help children take part in child care, after-school programs, summer camp, swim lessons and youth sports.
Over 1,000 local kids a year take part in programming, including childcare, summer camps, swim lessons and youth sports.
Healthy Living
The Y is a place to get stronger, stay active and find connection at every age. Your gift helps make membership and programs accessible to neighbors who need financial assistance. Our doors are open to more than members.
We provide free community time at the Wiggins YMCA and Blue Hill YMCA each week to our neighbors, who enjoy access to fitness and recreation in our facilities.
Social Responsibility
For 65 years, the Down East Family YMCA has brought people together across Hancock County. We support families with young children, give kids room to grow and help older adults stay active and connected. When a new need arises, your support helps us respond. We employ over 200 people a year and are one of the largest employers of teenagers in Hancock County. We have over 300 volunteers who coach, mentor and lend a hand throughout the Y. Their time and care help make our programs welcoming places for everyone.
