Dolphins Off to Fast Start

The DEFY Dolphins picked up where they left off last season with a resounding win over the Waldo County Bluefish. The Dolphins outscored the Bluefish with a score of 548-293. Dolphin swimmers reached the wall first in 51 of the 68 contested events.

Highlights of the meet included 18 swimmers qualifying for the Maine Junior Olympics. The qualifying swimmers included: Sam Alvarado, Colin Aponte, Austin Baron, Kristy Barry, Sidney Hamilton, Talor Hamilton, Diego Harvey, Camden Holmes, Cooper Holmes, Seneca Maddocks-Wilbur, Calvin Nelson, Hayden O’Connell, Nick Partridge, Sam Pelletier, Hayden Sattler, Ava Sealander and Isaac Weaver.

Last season the Dolphins finished 2nd place at the Maine YMCA State Championships, their best finish in their 23 years. Their next meet will be Saturday, December 6th against the Canoe City Swim Club of the Old Town YMCA. That meet will be contested in Old Town.
