Thank You, Patrick Jordan

The Down East Family YMCA is saddened by the sudden passing of Patrick Jordan. Patrick and the Jordan Family have been tremendous supporters of the YMCA for many years and have been instrumental in making the YMCA successful in the community that Patrick loved. The Jordan’s support embraced all aspects of YMCA program and services from youth sports to senior programs and any and all community events and activities. Patrick was a YMCA board member from 2005 to 2012 serving many roles including Chairman. In 2008, Patrick was recognized as the YMCA’s Volunteer of the Year. During his time on the board the Y was able to accomplish; the first ice rink for the community, a skate park, a full renovation of the Wiggins Center, a collaboration with the City of Ellsworth to establish the Moore Community Center and the establishment of the Blue Hill YMCA in partnership with Tradewinds Market. In 2009, the YMCA committed to acquiring the property on Webb Pond in Eastbrook for the Y’s summer camp for kids. Patrick’s energy, enthusiasm and hard work were the foundation to make the “Campaign for kids” a success and now we have Camp Discovery. The camp now plays home to generations of kids during their summer time in Maine.  A wonderful legacy Mr. Jordan – Bless you, Patrick Jordan.
